If selected to participate in this exciting, educational and career enhancing opportunity, you will be able to take advantage of the robust networking opportunities sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy Gold Rising Program was established in an effort to provide access and opportunity to key members of the film and entertainment industry as well as to provide you with networking opportunities to enhance your future career in the industry.
As part of this application process, you will be asked to submit the following:
- Narrative essay statement (prompt for essay below)
- Resume
- Portfolio/Other samples of work (optional)
- Response to What is your T-shirt size and what food allergies do you have if any?

Narrative Essay Statement
As part of your application, please answer the two mandatory prompts below, and there is the opportunity to select one of the optional prompts to add to your application. Please compose a recommended limit 350-500 words per essay response to each selection.
Mandatory Prompts (answer both of the below)
- In an ideal world, what would the future of film look like, and how would you be a part of it?
- What are the influences in your life that have led you to gravitate to the film industry?
Optional Prompts (select one of the below)
- Why do you want to be a part of the professional film industry?
- There are many different industries to pursue a career in. Why film?
- If you could do anything else but be in the film industry, what would it be and why?
(Note: this is not a trick question, you do not simply need to say there’s no other career path I would ever consider.
There’s no right or wrong answer)
- Why are you right for Academy Gold Rising, and why now?

As part of this application process, you have the opportunity to include any links, uploads or samples of your work of which you are most proud and believe are a good example of your vision, ideas and creativity. This is optional and will in no way disqualify you from candidacy into the program.
Application Review & Selection Assessment
As part of the application process, we will assist in conducting the candidate assessment process for our participating companies. This process will include a review of the candidate’s application submission materials and relevancy in both education and work experience to determine admission into the program. Consideration will be given to applicant’s narrative statement/resume and interest in participating in the program to further advance education, career and networking opportunities for future employment within the industry.
